My personal journey with burnout began from not recognising the symptoms, to be being signed off work sick for a year. Thankfully this was now 4 years ago, and in hindsight it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Not at the time of course! I ask myself many questions - is having a burnout a privilege? Is it a Western phenomenon? Why did I feel guilty?

Mental health is profoundly influenced by #culture (national, organisational, socio-economic and more) which shapes how we perceive, experience and address mental health issues.

Is something better than nothing? As a DEIB trainer, facilitator and speaker I am constantly treading a fine line - as I believe we all should be!

Culture is endlessly fascinating to me. Whether we are taking about National Cultures, or Organisational Culture, or Sub-Cultures - as a sociologist, interaction between cultures has always been a passion of mine.
